The 0th Special Unit: (Zero's commanding Unit)
Also Known as the Shinobi unit, this unit consists primarily of people gifted with high stealth abilities. Primarily used for assassinations, the 0th consists of units who are very skilled at entering, killing the target, and withdrawing without being caught. The 0th unit is a very prestigious group, and even those skilled enough to join are not always allowed in because of the unit's strict guidelines for recruitment.
The 4th Overland Unit:
Primarily a heavy infantry unit, this unit is specially trained to fight on land, and at one time was well known for it's unmatched ability to fight in deserts. Since that time, many of it's more skilled members have left, leaving the 4th overland a hollow shell of what it was originally.
The 6th Maritime Fleet Unit:
The biggest sea fleet in existence, the Maverick Hunters established this unit when the need for water based operations came hard-strained for their current based models. Assigned the most effective Sea based reploids, and the greatest battleships in existence..this unit is a force to be reckoned with over the waters.
The 7th Air Cavalry:
The 7th is without a doubt in command of the skies. From the beginning, when lead by Storm Eagle and Overdrive Ostrich (who then had wings), this unit was a pivotal part of the hunters' strategy. Since most units have been assigned airships, the 7th unit is no longer needed to ferry the other units around, freeing them up to use the airforce to attack as needed. .
The 8th Armored Division:
This unit is a critical part of the protection of Megatokyo, and even when all other units were downsized if not disbanded, the 8th armored division was kept at the same size. This unit makes Megatokyo an inpenetrable fortress, without which the city, despite it's technological barriers, could easily be defeated.
The 9th Special Forces Unit:
Also known as the Ranger unit, this elite unit has served many roles over the years. Originally intended to operate out of jungles and other remote areas, it has since shifted to more of a reconaissance and preemptive strike unit. Additionally, the 9th has a small airforce and presently possesses 6 airships, placing it second to the air cavalry for air power.
The 13 Polar Unit:
Established under the command of Chill penguin, The Polar unit was set up in Antartica in an out of the way MH base that deals primarily in polar operations across the globe. Action for this unit is quite the rarity, since Mavericks rarely decide to pay a visit to the poles. When they do however, they would get to see why this unit was placed here.
14th Grapple combat Unit:
Formally under the command of Magma Dragoon, this unit was established with effective melee combat in mind. Most of the melee based reploid models come under the control of this unit, and are placed in tight quarter operations where there skills can be put to maximum use.
The 17th Elite Unit: (X's commanding unit)
Everyone has heard of the (in)famous 17th unit, lead by the living legend Megaman X. His ability as a hunter is unmatched, and those who work with him are the absolute best at what they do. There are very few members of the 17th, fewer members than even the 0th unit, but they more than make up for it with sheer skill and raw power.
